Steve Staich

Steve was born and raised in the Detroit area. He attended the Serbian Orthodox Church (Ravanica aka St. Lazarus) where he was an altar boy and sang in the choir. He attended U of M, graduating in 1964 with degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics. He then moved to California to work in aerospace and furthering his education with a MSE from U of So. California in 1968. Steve met his bride, the former Arlene Fleischmann, while at U of M. They married in 1967 in Detroit in the old Greek Orthodox church on McNichols (just before the riots). They have lived in Redondo Beach since 1971 and became members of St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church, where Steve sings in the choir and served on the parish council for four years (two years as the treasurer). They have two grown children. Steve retired in 2009 after working on a number of unmanned space programs for NASA and the Air Force. He was also active in Boy Scouting where he was a Cubmaster for 25 years. Steve currently serves on the Archangel Gabriel Capital Campaign Committee.
